TopWeddingDay.com was developed and is maintained by Wedding DJ and Wedding Planner Chris Kellogg. He is also this site’s Editor-in-Chief and head article writer.
Here’s what Chris has to say about his experience in wedding planning:
“It’s pretty easy to say where my love of entertaining and event planning came from. I had an uncle who had entertainment down to a science. When I was just 13, he hired me as an assistant to his budding Mobile DJ service. At first, we played at small events like birthdays. From there, we went on to perform at a campground, and from there started booking school dances and weddings.
It was at 13 years old where my, wedding “career,” began. My uncle joked that at first, I was too scared to even talk into the microphone at an event. But eventually, I did take the mic, I played the music and the rest is as they say, history.
Over the years, I’m guessing I’ve attended over 150 weddings. And in that time, I’ve had hundreds of drunk uncles come up to me during the reception and ask me to play obscure songs from the 70s. All the while swearing, that the crowded dance floor will, “Love it!”
I’ve always had a love for organizing events. Many people don’t realize that DJs are in fact wedding planners. We help create a wedding timeline, from ceremony til last dance, and every other detail in between.
Am I an expert at weddings? I would say so. Over my 35+ years in the business, I’ve worked closely with the management of venues, caterers, florists, photographers, salons, videographers, and even jewelers to make sure the wedding couple’s day is special. I’ve always been more than just a wedding DJ.
Over the years, I’ve been able to help my clients come up with creative and memorable ways to share their special day. There is nothing more satisfying than knowing the services I provided made the bride’s and grooms day better.
If you find my Wikipedia page, you’ll see that not only am I a wedding professional, but I’m a morning radio show host for a station in the Springfield, MA & Hartford, CT area.”
